I’m an experienced software engineer. I learn by building and sharpen that understanding through writing.

Two things, both live.

RetireRatio (opens in a new tab)

    retireratio.com

A retirement calculator I built to answer a question I had for myself: given what I save and how I invest, does my current lifestyle survive retirement, and for how long? It models pre- and post-retirement returns, several account types and their tax treatment, and a withdrawal strategy, then shows the projection in today's dollars. Illustrative, not advice.

    Mermaidro

    mermaidro.com

A link-in-bio brand hub for a mermaid performer and craft maker — a mobile-first page that routes visitors to booking and commission inquiries.

Nothing published yet — the first piece is being written, not waiting in a queue.

The first piece is on knowledge graphs. They keep showing up — a project at work, things I tinker with — and the essay is me working out a real understanding in the open.

About twelve years writing software: medical devices, then healthcare, now financial systems, where I'm a senior engineer and lead a small team. The through-line isn't an industry — it's that I keep wandering into unfamiliar problems and building my way to understanding them.

This site is where I do that in public — the things I build, and the writing I use to think them through. It's early, so there's more intent here than archive. I'd rather show that honestly than dress up an empty shell.
